How To Wear Sweats To Work

Ladies, if you are like me, you'll agree that there are days when you want nothing more than to go to work in your sweats and a t-shirt. Those tight pants, restricting structured shirts and painful high heels can be so suffocating!

The good news is-- there are work arounds. Allow me to introduce you to my five faves.

1. The Track Pant / Jogger Pant
These are basically dressy sweatpants. Made of silk, polyester, leather and other kinds of soft flexible fabrics, track/jogger pants are loose, light, comfortable and most pants of this variety come with an elastic waistband.

2. Loose Fitting Blouses, Tunics and T-Shirts
As with the track pants, looser fitting tops are on trend right now which makes this move a no brainer. A loose blouse in a light, breathable fabric is ideal. It's as comfortable as wearing a t-shirt.

3. Leggings
Leggings, like yoga pants are a girl's best friend.
They're forgiving, flexible, they always make you look and feel good
and you can take them anywhere.

4. Maxi and Shift Dresses
Maxi, Shift, Tunic and every other type of loose fitting dress are probably the most comfortable items of clothing to wear. With their simple lines, these dresses are not restricting yet look so classy and elegant.

5. Flats, Wedges or Chunky Heels
Any of the above are a million more times mobile than high heels, not too mention more comfortable.

Fashion Trends: Coated Denim

Denim gets down this Fall, with different patterns, prints, textures, colors and finishes. Dare I say...anything goes? A really fun trend is coated denim which gives denim different intensities of shine depending on what kind of resin or wax the denim is coated with. The wax coating can also give denim the same look and texture as leather, making coated denim a good alternative if you aren't into supporting leather goods.

You can incorporate coated denim jeans into your everyday work look by pairing it with a blouse and blazer or t-shirt and cardigan or jacket. Dress these denim jeans up at night with a fancy top, dressy heels and some jewelry.

How fun are these finds? How do you wear your coated denim?

Fashion Trends: The Collar Necklace

// Hilde by Dannijo //

 They were in last Fall and they're back again for another round...The Collar Necklace. Wear one to dress up, change up, glam up or update just about any outfit. I must admit, when I saw these last year, I was like..."Really, those things look ridiculous?!" But as Time had it's way with me, this year, I'm like..."I must have one (more like many)!!!"

With all the different designers and styles that these necklaces come in, there's bound to be one to match your taste and level of comfort. The thing I love about these necklaces the most is that they polish up your look in an instant.

Do you own a collar necklace? Do you have a fave here?

Fashion Trends: Baroque is Back, Baby

// via Vogue Italy //

Elaborate ornamentation, sensuous richness, drama, curving forms and complexity are all words that describe the style of the Baroque period, started around 1600BC in Italy. This dramatically ornate style was used to impress, demonstrating power and wealth. Ironically enough, this opulent style is back in a big way this Fall despite the state of our current economic conditions.

Brilliant golds, rich reds, embroidered arabesques and extravagant curving patterns-- these dresses are beautiful enough to hang on a wall.
