Fashion Trends: Baroque is Back, Baby

// via Vogue Italy //

Elaborate ornamentation, sensuous richness, drama, curving forms and complexity are all words that describe the style of the Baroque period, started around 1600BC in Italy. This dramatically ornate style was used to impress, demonstrating power and wealth. Ironically enough, this opulent style is back in a big way this Fall despite the state of our current economic conditions.

Brilliant golds, rich reds, embroidered arabesques and extravagant curving patterns-- these dresses are beautiful enough to hang on a wall.
